August Inspiration Challenge #34 - Happy Birthday

Hello Paper Sweeties Fans!
Welcome to the August Inspiration Challenge!  This month's theme is "Happy Birthday" and we are kicking off a wonderful month of Celebration with Paper Sweeties!  Paper Sweeties ( and it's lovely founder and creator Debbie Marcinkiewicz ) is celebrating its 3rd birthday this month - all month long!!!!  And you are all invited to the party!

We are kicking off the party with the August Inspiration Challenge and this lovely color scheme and photo!
Aren't those the sweetest cupcakes?

And the party will continue for the entire month:

Here is my challenge card:
I designed this card for Debbie!  I decided to make a card showing the Paper Sweeties shop using the "Sweeties Stand" stamp set.  To represent the lovely Debbie I used the "Abigail" stamp set and sweet cuts die.  Debbie is letting everyone know that she is throwing a big 3rd birthday party celebration!  The dress that my "Debbie" doll is wearing is from the "Warm Winter Wishes" stamp set with a pink sequin bow added.

In the shop you can see the two stamp sets that were released in July hanging on the wall all ready to be purchased!  Next is the party graphic that Debbie created to publicize the birthday celebration!  I reduced all of these graphics in my "Word" program and printed them out to create my store interior. Some sequins on the counter are also for sale!

The speech bubble die is one I had in my stash and the sentiment "I'm having a party" is selectively inked from the "I'm having a tea party" stamp set.  I just removed the word "tea".  The banners stamped above the shop are from the "Celebrate" stamp set.  And some lovely marshmallow sequins finish the card off nicely!

This card will be mailed off to Debbie to wish her and her lovely company "Paper Sweeties" a Happy 3rd Birthday!

I am just one stop on the challenge blog hop today! We are being joined by many of the incredibly talented Paper Sweeties Alumni Creative Designers too!  Here is a complete list of everyone joining in today's festivities:

Superlative Seeds of the Realm....and a Christmas card with no challenge to land in....

Hello Friends,
My son is off with his college-age cousin and friends today at a fun event called Live Action Role Playing at a park near our home.  The theme this year is Pirates.  Here is a picture of them posing in full costume before they left:
The bad thing is that it is 97 degrees here today....a very hot one for us cool-weather loving Seattle-ites. It may hamper some of the playing!  Or at least some of the costume wearing!  Wow! It is HOT!!!!!  The driest and hottest summer I have ever experienced here!

Anyway...I am taking advantage of a little Mommy free time to make a few cards in my nice and cool basement today.      I have two cards to share with you...

This first card uses a stamp set from Waltzingmouse called Vintage Garden Seed Packet and is a sweet little note card that can be used for anything.  The paper is from Iralamija Shop on ETSY.
And next I have a little Christmas card....it is a case of a card I made last year that I really liked and came together quickly:

The tree is from a set called Trim the Tree at Paper Sweeties.  The senitment is from the Let it Snow stamp set.

Thanks for taking a peek at my cards.  I hope you are enjoy your Sunday!

Enjoy the Journey - FMS #195

Hello....Playing a bit in my craft room on this lovely Friday night after a full day of swimming and sunshine with my boy.

Decided to try using my new Petite Places Happy Camper set from Papertrey Ink for the first time.
I also decided to play along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge #195:

In order for my card to work I had to flip the sketch. We always camp near water so I added some "waves" with my copic coloring....can you see them?   Somewhat of a whimsical card....

Happy Weekend everyone! Thanks for taking a look....

Paper Sweeties July Release Rewind

Happy Release Rewind Day with Paper Sweeties!  It has been such a fabulous few days of new projects from the wonderful Paper Sweeties Design Team!  I am always so inspired by everyone's ideas and creativity!

Here again are the FABULOUS new sets that were released:

     Wish Stamps and Sweet Cuts:

Bee Happy Stamps and Sweet Cuts:

Today is the day that we showcase new products and existing products working together.  I decided to work with the Paper Sweeties Doll "Emma" today along with the new "Wish" stamp set.  Here is what I came up with:

Isn't Emma cute all dressed up for bed time and carrying her sweet little stuffed bunny?  Her nightgown, bunny, and sentiment are from the "I Love You" Stamp set.  Can you see the background of "LOVE" I stamped on the light green cardstock?  I love using the stamps in these words sets for backgrounds with Versamark ink.

I added some Wink of Stella clear pen to the bunny and her slippers and collar and cuffs to make them shine.  Then I added some "Diamond" stickles around the white panel.  My son said it needed a little something at the top so I added a twine bow to the card as well as some hair bows to Emma's ponytails.

Well that is it for this month's release for me...thanks so much for all of the sweet comments on my projects!  I so enjoy reading them!  Here is the Hop List for today:

There is a lot more for you to see! Kathy Schweinfurth of "Stamps at Play" is next on the hop and she always has such wonderful projects!

Don't forget about the Paper Sweeties Monthly Inspiration Challenge.  Our theme this month is Red, White, and Blue which is great for nautical cards and summer fun!  There is a $20.00 gift certificate and Guest Design Spot for the winner!

And join us next month as we celebrate Paper Sweeties 3rd Birthday:
Lots of exciting things to come in August including some phenomenal new stamps and dies!!!! I am so excited!!!!

Happy Crafting!
Jill

Hello Stamping Friends!!!!

Have you heard about the new challenge over at Capture the Moment (Nicole's blog) for Papertrey Ink?  Since during release weeks we are without our beloved Make it Monday challenge Betsy had the idea to have us create a card by utilizing some of the incredible inspiration that has all of us drooling (okay maybe that is just me LOL) and ready to order tonight when the products go live!

I wanted to case so many cards!  The designers at Papertrey are all so fabulous! I found something on every single designers blog that I would have loved to attempt CASEing!  For today I chose this lovely card by Laurie Willison:

You can see this gorgeous card on her blog Soapbox Creations:  HERE

I will warn you that creating backgrounds is something that I tend to struggle with.  I find it very difficult not to end up with ink where I do not want it.  But I found it a wee bit easier this time....maybe my skills are starting to improve! LOL!  My cards are still not 100% perfect but they are handmade after all!

I cut 4 card fronts and stamped them using a flower from the "Pretty Peonies" stamp set with a goal of making a card set to mail to a family member.  I did this at 4am on a television tray in my living room this morning.  I always wake up early and wanted to try this so bad that I got up and got to it!  LOL!  Then I came down to my craft room and finished them off....

Here is my favorite of the four cards....and luckily no ink smudges on this one:

I love "Tiffany Blue" so I chose to go a wee bit darker with my Copic coloring on the background after realizing I didn't have a lighter blue marker like Laurie.  I like the way this turned out!  What do you think?  I stayed very close to her original design which I just love!  Thanks again Laurie!

And here it is in green:

On this one I let the flower show more by using a shorter vellum banner.  It looks like it is peeking out to say "Hello" doesn't it?

And here are two more versions with coloring in the centers of the flowers only.... just to try something  a little different:

I am not sure if you can see it very well in the pictures....
Here I used an RV32 marker to color the flower centers.

And a V06 Copic for the flower centers on this card.

I almost want to make two more of these cards and try coloring in 3 flowers fully in a visual triangle.  I think that would be cool too!

Well that is it for me today.  Thanks Laurie and all of the wonderful Papertrey Ink Designers for the incredible inspiration during this release and every release! And thanks to Betsy for coming up with this great new challenge! I think I want to try Melissa's teacup card next....I LOVE IT!!!!!

Happy Stamping!

Paper Sweeties July Release Party

Yay! Today is the DAY!!!!!  Welcome to the PAPER SWEETIES JULY RELEASE PARTY!!!!!

All of the new products we have been showcasing are available today, July 15th, at 12am in the Paper Sweeties store.

Here are the sets being released today:

Wish Stamp Set:
Bee Happy Stamp Set:

For your convenience I have linked all of these sets at the end of this post.

And now on to my cards for today. I have a card set to share with you using the butterfly die from the sweet cuts for "Bee Happy".

There is a sweet stamp that goes with this butterfly with a cute whimsical face.  I chose to use the die cut only and make a more formal butterfly for these 3.5" x 3.5" cards.

Each card features a different color butterfly with a body made from the Paper Sweeties signature flower sequins:
This card features "Cookie Dough" sequins.  Isn't that a pretty color of yellow?!!!

This card features "Robin Egg" sequins.  Love this sweet aqua blue!
This one has "Bubblegum" sequins. A bright and pretty pink!

And finally this card features a color called "Raspberry".  A color that is a light purple-pink shade.

This little card set features sentiments from the "Occasions" stamp set.  A wonderful set of sentiments that covers so many different types of cards.

There is lots more to see from the rest of the wonderful Paper Sweeties teamies.  Here is the hop link list:

I hope you will come back tomorrow as we will be hopping again with out Release Rewind projects.  We will be incorporating sets from the existing Paper Sweeties product line with the new releases.  Hope to see you then.  Thanks for your visits to my blog!

Hello! And welcome to Day Two of the Paper Sweeties July Release Countdown.  All of the new products we are showcasing will be available at the Paper Sweeties store on July 15th at 8am!

These are the new stamps and sweet cuts for this month:

Today my card uses the new Bee Happy stamps and sweet cuts:

I am just in love with this sweet little bee! Doesn't it have the sweetest little face!

I colored him with Copics and added some Wink of Stella clear glitter to his wings!  Two coats!  It is so glittery and I was even able to capture the glitter in the photo!

I love the font of the sentiments in this set!  Isn't it fun!  And this "Bee Happy" sentiment is so versatile.  A nice card to have in your stash as it could be used for a variety of occasions.

That is it for me today. But there is a ton more inspiration to be seen on the rest of our wonderful Design Team Members blogs:

Debbie Marcinkiewicz – Paper Sweeties

Some get well wishes....

My sweet Mother is always putting together little get well gifts for her friends that are having health problems or surgeries etc.  She bakes them a loaf of her famous Zuchini bread or Pumpkin bread and adds a sweet card.  She was running low on cards so over the past few days I made her a few using one of my favorite sets from Lawn Fawn "On the Mend".

I thought I would post a few picks and add my post to the inlinkz for the latest Lawnscaping challenge:

My pictures do not show the "wink of stella" that I added to the tissue boxes etc. but it is there....

These cards are 4" x 4" and very simple....just the adorable images and a sentiment.

The papers are scraps from my stash.  It is nice to be able to use up some of my paper scraps!

I colored the images with Prima colored pencils on the 4th of July.  Then made them into cards later in the week.  Simple and sweet and sure to bring a smile to someone who is not feeling well.

My mom's favorite is that sweet little turtle with his ice pack!  In real life the ice pack is all glittery as if with condensation!

Thanks for taking a peek.

Paper Sweeties July Release Sneak Peeks

WELCOME to the July Release for Paper Sweeties!  Today we begin sharing projects using the new stamps and sweet cuts that will be released on July 15th at 8am!

This month's release includes the following sets:

And here is my card:
This card uses the new "Wish" stamp set and sweet cuts dies!  The background paper is from Authentique's "Latest and Greatest" 6x6 paper pad.  I die cut the word "Wish" 3 times from blue card stock and then glued them together for some added dimension.

I punched out 4 little stars using a "star" hole punch, glued them together and dotted the "i" with the completed star.  I think it adds so much to the card!  The rest of the sentiment "upon a star" is from the "Wish" stamp set..  The rounded corner stitched mat was embossed with a star embossing folder and then inked with some Tahiti colored chalk ink to bring out the dimension.

A few "Robin Egg" colored sequins add some sparkle.  And a "Robin Egg" twine tie with a bow finishes the card.

There is a lot more inspiration for you to view today!  Here are the links to the other designers participating in today's blog hop:

I hope you enjoy taking a look at all of the wonderful projects that the design team is sharing today!

Don't forget about our July Inspiration Challenge! There is a $20.00 gift certificate and a Guest Designer spot up for grabs over at the Paper Sweeties Blog!  See the post for July 1st!  Here is this month's inspiration photo:

We would love to have you join in the fun!

I hope you come back tomorrow for day two of our July Release countdown! Thanks for visiting me here at Greenwood Girl Cards!  I so appreciate your visits and your comments!
